His first career was with an Israeli software company, where he began as a technical writer and eventually sold and managed training projects for customers. He lived in Israel for nine years in the 1980s, and returned to live in Jerusalem in 2024. He served in the IDF, and three of his children have done the same. Another has volunteered as a teacher in an Israeli development town.
He went back to school in 2003, at the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, and was ordained in 2008. He has been a congregant, and has worked in the “real world”, and knows that shuls today, more than ever, need to transform themselves from stuffy institutions to hotbeds of Jewish growth and personal connection.
He currently serves as the COO of
Jewtor and as the CEO of
Judaism Online.
He is married and the father of four.
